The Team

As a DevTools Engineer on the Platform Team, you are looking to gain hands on experience with operating a complex release pipeline as you gain experience building tools to improve the experience. You will be involved in all aspects of getting code quickly and reliably into production. You will build tooling to help engineers focus on our products and assist them in resolving issues. You understand how to look at the whole system when evaluating solutions and have the imagination to be innovative.

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote, San Mateo, Columbus

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates across all US timezones.

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions. These occur 3 days per Quarter at alternating offices. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Build tools and services to increase engineer velocity and quality,
  • Work with engineers to debug issues and drive best practices,
  • Help drive technology solutions for releasing code to production

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with release systems and CI/CD,
  • Experience with Docker, Jenkins, Github, etc,
  • You know some of these languages: Ruby, Python, Java, Node
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to understand urgency of requests
  • Ability to learn about complex deployment systems, from the ground up
